Web, Copy & SEO Information Worth Paying For

Last week I shared several newsletters that I read and reocmmend, all free all the time. Now here are a select few (at least for the moment) online newsletters that I actually pay for and have for several years.

With so much great information out there, why pay for it? Because when you learn something useful that you, in turn, can benefit from financially, it’s not a cost, it’s an investment. These two newsletters cover the web world – email and SEO copywriting, search engine optimization and landing pages, and a lot more. Excellent material for your own site or blog (you do have one, right?) as well as material for you to share with clients.

Worth the bucks? You bet! Here are my top 2 for-fee subscription recommendations:

Web Commerce Today Newsletter
Dr Wilson has been at this since I think the ‘net first started. Solid information, much of it copywriting-centered, told in a simple, here’s-how-you-do-it style. If you’re writing any sort of web content, email, landing pages, etc., Dr Wilson’s newsletter is an excellent primer with a ton of resources for you to explore.

Planet Ocean Search Engine News
Like most folks who do any sort of search engine optimization, we are mostly self-taught and this publication is arguably the best. Delivered monthly, it demystifies search engines and directories … explains how to boost rankings and gain exposure … and more until you reach that "ah ha" moment when you totally get it. When that happens you now have another service to market to clients, both current and prospective. (This material is invaluable to you, as well, when you decide to build or enhance your own website.) Great stuff with invaluable resources.

Just so you know … I get a "spiff" (isn’t that a great word for commission?) for these newsletters. But this is my pledge to you and all my readers – I only recommend what I actually read, own, use and learn from. It has to have proven its value to me before I’ll make any recommendation to you.

Which will lead to an upcoming post or two — learning how to monetize your talent, recommendations, and your website for additional income streams. Bly does it, Usborne does it, why not you?

Essential Takeway Point
The ‘net is filled with great free and low-cost information sources. Find ‘em and use ‘em. But don’t shy away from investing in top-value information when necessary.
