If you’re a regular Copywriting Maven reader, you know I love experimenting with new widgets. I try ‘em for a while, and if they’re used or produce results they get to stay. Otherwise, they disappear and I make room for new ones.

It’s the direct marketer in me. I like testing.

I’m still feeling my way through the whole social marketing universe, but as the life’s blood of any copywriting or other freelance writing business is growing your referral network, LinkedIn seemed  obvious — a social marketing tool designed for business. What’s not to like?

I’m still experimenting with it (hence, my low connections), but Andy Beard has made the process a lot easier.

He’s created a simple little LinkedIn Generator that you pop in your blog. Grab it. (I don’t have it on my blog yet since I’m seriously thinking about moving from my TypePad to a WordPress platform in the next week or so.)
