Since all of us in the creative trades love a good chuckle or two, I thought I’d share the occasional real-life project ad drawn verbatim from the usual freelancing job boards. Here’s the first. Enjoy!
Hello,
We need a simple logo and landing page designed in the next 24 hours. Your task will be:
-Come up with a few logo concepts
-Choose a nice stockphoto (that I will then purchase)
-Use the logo and the stockphoto to design a landing page for a future site
-Implement the above in HTML and send me the files so I can upload themThe site will be an upscale fashion community for youngsters. Your style must be clean and very high end.
Thanks!
PS: Please do not forget that we need this done in the next 24 hrs. Do not bid unless you have the time. We prefer someone in the Americas or Europe due to timezone constraints.
Deliverables recap: A few high-end logo concepts, stock photo search, landing page design and html code. In 24 hours.
Yeah, right.

If I had the time, I’d submit a logo concept that included a few goodies you don’t normally talk about in polite company, but alas, I have no extra bandwidth for good satire.
Naturally, the “laughing, then crying” aspect of all this is that someone sees that ad as a Golden Opportunity…

Ah yes, the promise of the Golden Opportunity … sigh.
